Terms and Conditions
Choose plants based on their light environment.
The amount of natural light your space receives will be assessed by our experts, and you can select your plant based on the existing conditions. If you are not sure just by looking, start by understanding which direction your window faces.
Instructions: Generally, south-facing windows provide suitable light, east and west-facing windows offer moderate light, while north-facing windows supply little light. If there is something outside your window—such as a tree or a large building—that could block sunlight, be sure to take that into account as well. (At every stage, our colleagues will be alongside you, and expert opinions will be provided in writing.) Most houseplants prefer bright, indirect sunlight, but many can tolerate lower light levels. (For example, cacti and some succulents can endure direct, brighter sunlight.) All plants require a certain amount of natural light, and any abnormalities in direct and intense sunlight or a lack of light can affect the survival and lifespan of your plant.
Your plant is a new member of your family and requires attention.
Due to social life and common forgetfulness throughout the day and week, occasional neglect may occur, which can harm and threaten the life of your plant. Of course, some plants can withstand temporary stresses from this type of lifestyle, but constant neglect will definitely put your plant at risk of extinction.
Rule Two
At Pots and Pines, we offer plant care services that include: plant recommendations, planting, pot selection, and plant healthcare. However, you will be living with the plant continuously, and the responsibility for its care rests entirely with the customer. We will be alongside you to create suitable conditions for the growth and survival of your plant.
Watering Plants
Overwatering can lead to root rot. Please set aside your watering schedule and water your plant according to the instructions from Pots and Pines experts. Sometimes, due to temperature changes in the environment, the watering needs may vary. Please refer to the following guidelines for clarification.
Instructions: First, check the pot or soil to ensure that it has dried at least 2 finger lengths deep. If the soil appears dark visually, and you feel moisture when touching the soil, your plant has enough water and does not need additional watering.
The frequency of watering can vary throughout the year. Plants need less water in the winter months because their growth slows during the cold seasons, with shorter days and less sunlight. If the ambient heat is high and the soil in pots dries quickly, they may need a bit more water, which will be reminded by Pots and Pines experts. Wilting leaves or soil that appears to have pulled away from the edges of the pot and has cracks are signs that the plant is thirsty. Always use lukewarm water, as it absorbs best. Pour the water directly onto the soil around the base of the plant since plants absorb water through their roots.
Increase Humidity if Needed
Staying true to the plant’s natural environment aids in their growth indoors. Most tropical plants prefer high humidity and bright to medium, indirect light. During the dry winter months, a humidifier can also help, and it’s great for humans as well. On the other hand, cactus and succulent family plants prefer dry air and direct, bright sunlight without shade. They do not require much humidity.
Rule Number 3:
Keep the temperature as constant as possible.
Keep your home and plant environment as stable as possible. Severe temperature fluctuations can stress plants. Maintain the temperature between 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, and avoid placing your plants near radiators, air conditioning units, and air vents that can create cold or hot air.
